How does it work?

  1. Receive the kit conveniently at your home after placing your order.
  2. Online completion of medical history and informed consent, followed by self-collection of the sample at home.
  3. Shipping to the laboratory: Send the sample in the kit using the provided prepaid envelope. Store at room temperature; no cold chain required.
  4. In the laboratory, DNA extraction, library preparation, and shotgun metagenomic WGS sequencing are performed.
  5. Bioinformatic analysis and taxonomic assignment of the bacterial community against reference databases.
  6. Receive your digital report within 4–5 weeks, with the option to book a follow-up consultation.

Why choose?

  • WGS shotgun metagenomic technology, without amplification of a target gene, for accurate characterization of the bacterial community down to the species level.
  • Structured analysis ideal both for an initial assessment and for monitoring the evolution of the microbiome over time.
  • Sample stable for 90 days at room temperature, without refrigerated logistics.
  • The report is not a simple list of bacteria, but offers synthetic indices, reference ranges, and useful insights to improve intestinal well-being.
  • Processed at an ISO 9001:2015 certified laboratory, license HCS/L/10, with external QCMD and UK NEQAS controls.

The base test uses the same WGS shotgun metagenomic technology as the Advanced version, but the report is limited to the bacterial community. Other taxa, virulence factors (VF), and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) are reported exclusively in the Advanced version.

Who is it for?

  • For those seeking an initial assessment of their bacterial component.
  • For those experiencing functional discomforts related to lifestyle (e.g., feelings of bloating or temporary irregularity) in the absence of known pathologies or medical warning signs.
  • For those who wish to monitor the evolution of their intestinal flora following an ongoing nutritional program.

Disclaimer

  • Non-medical substitutability: The provided report is for informational, educational, and lifestyle personalization support purposes only. The test does not constitute a clinical diagnosis, does not identify pathologies, and does not provide therapeutic prescriptions or instructions for the self-administration of drugs (including antifungals or antiparasitics).
  • Therapeutic planning: The interpretation of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) genes and virulence factors (VF) is intended as research/wellness data and must, if necessary, be evaluated exclusively by a medical specialist.
  • Temporary contraindications: The test is not indicated if antibiotics have been taken in the previous 4 weeks, extended to 8 weeks for meropenem, gentamicin, or vancomycin.
