How does it work?

  • Collect the first urine stream with the Colli-Pee® device and complete the activation online via QR code.
  • Ship the sample: Place the tube in the kit using the included prepaid envelope. The preservative solution maintains stability at room temperature (20–26 °C) for up to 30 days, without the need for cold chain logistics.
  • Analysis and report: The laboratory performs DNA extraction and metagenomic shotgun sequencing; the interpreted report will be available online within 3–4 weeks.

Why choose?

  • Overcoming the limitations of urine culture: Urine is not sterile; metagenomic sequencing detects anaerobic, fastidious, or non-cultivable bacteria that traditional laboratory tests miss.
  • Broad-spectrum profiling: Simultaneously detects bacteria, fungi, DNA viruses, and genetic resistance determinants, providing a comprehensive overview of urinary tract biodiversity.
  • Maximum sampling efficiency: The same sample collected with the Colli-Pee® device allows for the integration of Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) panels without the need for repeat sampling.
  • Optimized room-temperature storage: The Colli-Pee® device stabilizes the first-void urine fraction, ensuring biological data stability for 30 days without the need for a cold chain.

Who is it for?

  • Those experiencing frequent urinary tract episodes who wish to examine the composition of their urobiome as a supplement to traditional tests.
  • Those who wish to map microbial biodiversity in the presence of persistent discomfort already evaluated by a physician.
  • People with a history of frequent antibiotic or antifungal use who intend to verify the health of their urinary ecosystem.
  • Men who intend to monitor the microbial balance of their urogenital tract to support their well-being.
  • Urologists, gynecologists, and specialists who integrate metagenomic analysis into their clinical assessment pathways.

Disclaimer

  • Nature of the examination and medical non-substitutability: The test analyzes the composition of the urinary microbiome exclusively for informational, educational, and wellness support purposes. It does not constitute a direct clinical diagnosis, does not identify acute pathologies, and does not replace traditional urine cultures, physical-chemical urine examinations, or urological/gynecological visits prescribed by a physician.
  • Therapeutic planning and use of data: The information contained in the report, including the analysis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) genes and virulence factors (VF), is for purely informational research/wellness purposes. It does not constitute a medical prescription or an indication for self-administration of medication (including antibiotics or antifungals). The evaluation of the data and any therapeutic management are the sole responsibility of the attending physician or specialist.
  • Temporary contraindications: To ensure the accuracy of the analysis, the test is not indicated if antibiotics or antifungal drugs have been taken in the previous 4 weeks. The waiting period extends to 8 weeks in the event of the intake of meropenem, gentamicin, or vancomycin.
